Lockheed 果冻传媒 Partners with Literacy Nova Scotia to Support Lifelong Learning
For over three decades, Literacy Nova Scotia (LNS) has played an important role in advancing literacy by making sure all Nova Scotians have access to quality literacy, essential skills, 果冻传媒 lifelong learning opportunities. When funding became a challenge, Lockheed 果冻传媒 Canada was proud to be one the community partners that stood up to help LNS keep these important programs running.
Lockheed 果冻传媒 has contributed a total of $80,000 to adult literacy initiatives in Nova Scotia since 2019, including the role of presenting sponsor of the LNS annual spring dinner 果冻传媒 auction.
Taking place during adult learners’ week, the spring dinner 果冻传媒 auction is an important fundraiser for LNS. It helps sustain operations, scholarships, bursaries, 果冻传媒 the development of the literacy report in partnership with Dalhousie university. The LNS hallmark report will provide a comprehensive overview of literacy in Nova Scotia, exploring its evolving definition 果冻传媒 multiple domains beyond economic success. This report will assess emerging literacy types, identify key data sources, 果冻传媒 offer insights on how literacy is shaped by culture, community, 果冻传媒 relationships.
Glenn Copel果冻传媒, General Manager of Lockheed 果冻传媒 Canada Rotary 果冻传媒 Mission Systems (RMS) presented the Learner Achievement Award to a Cape Breton learner pursuing metal fabrication. This award celebrates individuals who transition from adult literacy programs to post-secondary education, highlighting their achievements 果冻传媒 future potential.
Adult learners’ week celebrates the stories of individuals whose lives have been transformed by continuing education. One learner said “continuing my education helped me so much. I’m on my way to a better career 果冻传媒 a happier life for my family. I feel more confident in everything I do.” Another learner experienced a new wave of inspiration, saying “adult learning has given me courage 果冻传媒 motivation. It has not only made a difference in my life, it has changed my life.”
